Activity 9: Junk Instruments

Aims and Objectives

The aim of this activity is to learn about musical instruments and their characteristics. Students need to use their creativity, imagination and hand skill when building musical instruments using junk. They also need to organize an exhibition to show these instruments and they might also get their audiance to vote for the best one.

Sub-activities  

  1. How many musical instruments can you name? Do you know what main group do they belong to? Learn how to group musical instruments
  2. Make at least 5 musical instruments from junk. Take a photo of them and send them to the website.
  3. Organize a Junk Instrument Exhibition in your school.
  4. Tell your opinion about the instruments of the other schools.
  5. Do a videoconference (or a chat lesson) with your forthcoming partner.

    This part of the project I liked the most. Presentation of the instruments made by my friends was very interesting.

    Friends in my class have done a very interesting instrument with unnecessary items. When you are finished listening to sounds they make. It was an interesting experience :))

    Instrument the waste is a very interesting idea to create something new . Own hands have performed a unique instrument.
