European Citizenship

Unity in diversity is a slogan celebrating co-operation between different groups of people in a single society. It is also the official motto of the European Union.

Opportunities to teach European citizenship exist in all school subjects. Diversity, human right, democracy, human dignity, equality, justice, tolerance, solidarity and peace, the importance of culture are at the heart of education to foster European citizenship. Since these concepts are rather abstract to pupils, we need to help them exploring EU citizenship and find a way to connect it to their lives in order to reach a thorough understanding of the issue.

Based on this thought, we need to learn how to pay attention to individuals and to other cultures as well.  Also, we are convinced that social sensitivity is crucial for group performance. Consequently, there are activities which are not strictly part of the envisaged programme; however, they belong to our everyday life.

The aim of the project and particularly of this seasonal corner is to help pupils learn to preserve local customs, traditions and festivals, and to respect and value their own culture as well as other people's culture.

In this section you may find seasonal greetings, photo galleries and even more...
